1. Cookies and Google Analytics
This website can use Google Analytics to understand how people use fletch.design. It stays off until you choose Accept on the cookie notice. Decline leaves it off.
If you accept, Google Analytics records:
- The pages you open, and the order you move through them
- How long a visit lasts
- The type of device and browser you use
- A general location, such as a country or city, worked out from your IP address
- How you arrived, for example from a search engine or another website
Google Analytics stores a random identifier in cookies on your device, including cookies named _ga and _ga_*. That identifier lets Google tell a new visit from a returning one. It is not your name or your email address. Google may process this information in the United States and other countries. Google's privacy policy explains how they handle it.
We use these reports to see which pages are useful and where the site needs work. We do not sell this information, and we do not use Google Analytics to advertise to you.
Your choice is saved in this browser. To choose again, clear this site's saved data and the notice will return. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or stop Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
2. Information We Collect
- Website inquiry: Name, email address, phone number, and project details you send through a form. We store that inquiry in Fletch Workbench, our client system.
- Discovery session: A proposal needs more detail than the form collects. We gather that with you in a discovery session: your brand, your goals, and the people you want to reach.
- Project administration: Contact details we use for stationery, invoices, and project files once we are working together.
- Website analytics: Usage data from Google Analytics, only after you accept cookies, as described in section 1.
3. How We Handle an Inquiry
- Submission: You submit a form on the site.
- Fletch Workbench: The inquiry is saved in Fletch Workbench so we can read it and reply.
- Discovery: Before we send a proposal, we meet you in a discovery session and collect the extra detail the proposal needs.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to provide our services and grow our relationship with you:
- Communication: Contacting you via phone or email regarding your inquiry.
- Proposals: Preparing a proposal after the discovery session, then sending invoices, project updates, and asset-sharing links.
- Meetings: Sending appointment links for discovery sessions and project calls.
- Marketing: Sending occasional newsletters, presentation links, or marketing emails. You can opt out of marketing at any time via the "Unsubscribe" link in the email.
- Reviews: Requesting feedback or reviews once a project is complete.
- Website analytics: Google Analytics measures visits to this website after you accept cookies, as described in section 1.
5. Who Else Sees Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Inquiry records stay in Fletch Workbench, which is our own system.
The outside service that receives website visit data is Google Analytics, and only after you accept cookies.
6. International Data Transfers
Fletch Design is based in South Africa. Google Analytics may process visit data in the United States and other countries. We also work with clients outside South Africa, so project correspondence may cross borders as part of that work.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as you remain a client, or as long as necessary to comply with legal, tax, or accounting requirements (usually 5–7 years for financial records).
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (South Africa/POPIA, EU/GDPR, etc.), you have the following rights:
- Access: You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: You can ask us to update or fix your info.
- Deletion: You can ask us to delete your personal data (provided we aren't legally required to keep it for tax/invoicing).
- Withdraw Consent: You can opt out of marketing at any time.
- Analytics cookies: Choose Decline on the cookie notice, or clear this site's saved data and choose again. You can also refuse the cookies in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on, as described in section 1.
